The 2018 YouthCARE Canberra Cricket Lunch has been and gone, and was our most successful event to date!
This year’s lunch was held at the National Press Club of Australia and was followed by the evening England vs Australia match at Manuka Oval.
YouthCARE Canberra was thrilled to welcome a spectacular panel of cricket greats; Chairman of Cricket Australia David Peever, Cricket legend and commentator Rodney ‘Hoggie’ Hogg, Captain of the ACT Meteors and WBBL player Erin Osborne, and the captain of the Prime Minister’s XI itself, Nathan Lyon.
The event was MCed once again by friend and favourite of YCC, ABC Radio’s Tim Gavel. Our panellists shared great insight into the world of cricket in Australia, and provided great entertainment as they shared hilarious stories and memories with us.
This year, we were blown away by the generous support we received from the Canberra community, which resulted in our biggest raffle prize and most exciting auction so far. YouthCARE Canberra would like to thank our event sponsor, the Harry and Helen Notaras Memorial Foundation, and our corporate sponsor, the Synergy Group for joining us once again this year. We would also like to thank our event partner, Mount Majura Vineyard, and the newest addition to the YCC family, Bentspoke Brewery, for their support. This event would not have been the same without your generosity.
Over 60 thousand dollars was raised at the cricket lunch, extending far beyond our expectations. The funds raised will go directly towards assisting vulnerable young people, and the outreach and support services we offer. Thank you to everyone who attended and was involved in the event, your support is what makes this possible.
